Don't Wait in the Wings

Where It All Begins...

On May 3, 2002 the Quinte Ballet School of Canada’s new building was officially opened by the Honourable Sheila Copps, Minister of Canadian Heritage and the Honourable Lyle Vanclief, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Foods.  The School acknowledges the financial contribution of the Government of Canada, made possible through the Cultural Spaces Canada Program.

The School also recognizes the Building Committee, comprised of volunteers and staff, who worked so hard to make this dream a reality:

Kay Manderville, Chair 2000-2001
Wendy Morris, Chair 1998-2000
Mercedes Bernardez
Jim Clegg
Sheila Crooks-Daniels
Bonnie Perrigard
Brian Scott
Len Stepanick
Wilfrid Wilkinson

The facility is housed in the Riggs Centre in west-end Belleville, Ontario. This bright, modern and fully-equipped 20,000 sq. ft. facility features:

  • Five large, airy dance studios, each with a professional grand piano, built-in stereo and surround-sound speaker system, mirrors and dance floor
  • One extra-large performing studio with stadium seating, mirrors and dance floor
  • Male and female change rooms with showers
  • Student lounge
  • Physiotherapy room
  • Music room
  • Staff lounge and kitchen
  • Administrative offices
  • Costume room and warehouse
  • Set construction and storage warehouse

The School is conveniently located adjacent to the high school and a short walk from the elementary school where our full-time professional students attend their academic classes.
