FAQs

What are the requirements to Audition?

Students must be presently studying dance with a minimum of 2 years of training in ballet technique (even if another style of dance is their specialty). For students 15 years and older, experience in pointe work is an asset.

What should I wear to an Audition?

Girls should wear a dark coloured leotard, pink tights, soft ballet shoes and have their hair arranged in a bun or pinned close to the head. Students aged 13 and older with pointe experience should bring their pointe shoes to the audition. Boys should wear black tights or shorts, a white t-shirt, socks and soft ballet shoes.

How do I register for an Audition?

We encourage participants to pre-register for an audition. You may register online using the Audition Registration Form. If you require more information, contact the School at 1-866-962-9274 or via email at info@qbsc.ca. Participants should arrive 30 minutes prior to the time of the audition to finalize registration details.

How long after my audition will I find out if I am accepted for the Summer Dance program?

Within two weeks after the audition your parent(s) will receive an email from the School confirming if you have been accepted into the Summer Dance Professional Intensive Program.

During the last week of the Summer Dance Professional Intensive Program you will be notified if you are accepted into the full time Professional Training Program commencing in September and running throughout the School year.
